WASHINGTON D.C. - U.S. Senator John Boozman was recognized for his conservative voting record in the Second Session of the 111^th Congress as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives. The American Conservative Union, the nation's oldest and largest grassroots conservative lobbying organization, honored Boozman with the Defender of Liberty Award. This award is given to Members of Congress who scores a perfect 100 for any year within the ACU Ratings of Congress.

“I work to represent the interests, values and ideals of Arkansans. This is an honor I will share with my constituents as we strive to create a more limited federal government, rein in government spending and balance our budget,” Boozman said.

For the Second Session of the 111th Congress, the ACU rated a wide range of votes that cover a variety of issues before Congress including votes on taxes, wasteful government spending, cultural issues, defense and foreign policy.

“This Defender of Liberty award is a reflection of Senator Boozman’s outstanding record in support of conservative principles on a wide range of issues of concern to grassroots conservatives while a member of the House in 2010 and someone who conservatives can turn to for leadership.  At a time when the fundamental principles of the American system of government are being challenged, Senator Boozman stands with those who are trying to preserve those principles,” American Conservative Union Chairman Al Cardenas said.
