WASHINGTON – American Conservative Union (ACU) Chairman Al Cardenas and ACU Foundation Chairman Carly Fiorina today honored U.S. Senator John Boozman as an “ACU Conservative” for adhering to conservative principles while voting on behalf of Arkansans in the U.S. Senate.

“I am honored for the opportunity to represent Arkansas in the United States Senate and take my responsibilities in the role very seriously. The majority of Arkansans want to get our economy moving again, rein in the expansive federal government and stop Washington’s wasteful spending. This award shows that I am fighting for those same interests and share their ideals,” Boozman said.

Since 1971, the ACU—the nation’s oldest and largest grassroots conservative organization—has annually graded Members of Congress based on their votes on key conservative issues. The 2013 ACU Ratings of Congress includes scores for each individual member in both the Senate and the House of Representatives. The “ACU Conservatives” honor is given to members for scoring 80 percent or higher.

Boozman earned the distinction by voting to protect Second Amendment rights, reduce wasteful spending and restrict regulations that cost jobs and increase energy costs for every American.
