WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator John Boozman (R-AR) released the following statement on the one year anniversary of the health care law.

“This health care law reduces Americans’ abilities to make their own decisions about their health care and increases premiums, taxes and regulations. Arkansans understand the truth about this law disguised as reform. In the past year we have seen the cost of health insurance increase, Medicare patients turned away by doctors, and businesses and unions asking for waivers so they don’t have to follow the requirements. These are not the reforms Americans deserve.

The more we learn about this flawedregulation, the more Americans soundly reject it. I’m committed to working to defund and repeal this legislation to provide Americans quality affordable access to health care based on free market principles.

We have made progress on this front that will prove to be critical. Voting for a full repeal of the law, eliminating onerous 1099 reporting requirements, and the ruling by a federal judge declaring the law unconstitutional are all unraveling this faulty law.”
