WASHINGTON –U.S. Senator John Boozman earned Competitive Enterprise Institute’s (CEI) “Champion of the Worker” award for his perfect voting record on key employment and workforce issues during the 113th Congress.

The award honors legislators for their votes on legislation for increasing employment, creating better incentives for workers, supporting growth in workers’ incomes and improving worker freedom.

Competitive Enterprise Institute senior fellow and labor expert Aloysius Hogan congratulated Senator Boozman for leading the way on labor and employment policies.

“Senator Boozman resisted all of the accounting gimmickry, unfunded government handouts that burden future workers, and additional federal mandates that put people’s jobs and economic well-being at risk. His voting record on labor issues will benefit Arkansas and Americans across the country,” Hogan said.

“American workers are hampered by excessive regulations, obstructive corporate tax policy and uncertain job market. We need to create an economic environment that encourages business growth and hiring. I am honored to receive the “Champion of the Worker” award and will continue to support American workers through the free enterprise system,” Boozman said.

Founded in 1984, the Competitive Enterprise Institute is a free-market think tank in Washington, DC. CEI promotes the institutions of liberty and works to remove government-created barriers to economic freedom, innovation, and prosperity through timely analysis, effective advocacy, inclusive coalition-building and strategic litigation.
