WASHINGTON - U.S. Senator John Boozman applauded the efforts of talented college students interning in his Washington D.C. office for their service to the people of Arkansas.

“I appreciate the enthusiasm, commitment and dedication of these interns for the hard work they’ve done this summer alongside my staff and myself to address issues that affect Arkansas. This internship in Washington has presented them with excellent opportunities to gain insight into the legislative process, constituent service and other work being done in the nation’s capital on behalf of Arkansans. They have taken full advantage of their time working on Capitol Hill,” Boozman said.

Sara Brakmann, Sydney Cason, Chris Hoover, Marilyn Speed, Chafer Stanley, and Davis Trice are completing a five-week internship and Stephen Shaw is completing an eight-week internship in Boozman’s office. Over the course of their internship, these young men and women have provided Arkansans with exceptional constituent service by answering phones, writing letters, researching legislative issues, and giving tours of the U.S. Capitol to visiting Arkansans.

Sara Brakmann is a 2012 graduate of The First Academy in Orlando, Florida. She is a senior at the University of Arkansas majoring in Political Science with a minor in Legal Studies.

Sydney Cason is a 2012 graduate of Aledo in Aledo, Texas. She is a senior at the University of Arkansas majoring in Political Science and Middle Eastern Studies with a minor in Arabic.

Chris Hoover is a 2010 graduate of Van Buren High School in Van Buren, Arkansas. He is a senior at Arkansas Tech University majoring in Emergency Management and Homeland Security.

Marilyn Speed is a 2012 graduate of Rogers High School in Rogers, Arkansas. She is a senior at the University of Arkansas majoring in Political Science with a minor in Business.

Chafer Stanley is a 2012 graduate of Fayetteville High School in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He is a senior at the University of Arkansas majoring in Political Science/Latin American Studies and Spanish.

Davis Trice is a 2013 graduate of Fayetteville High School in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He is a junior at the University of Arkansas majoring Advertising/Public Relations and Political Science with a minor in Marketing.

Stephen Shaw is a 2013 graduate of Seton High School in Manassas, Virginia. He is a junior at Franciscan University in Ohio majoring in Political Science with a minor in Legal Studies.
