WASHINGTON– U.S. Senator John Boozman (R-AR) recognized The Call in Conway and Faulkner Counites for its commitment to strengthening families through supporting foster and adoptive children and homes in Arkansas. Boozman named the group a recipient of the 2019 Congressional Angels in Adoption award. 

The CALL is a faith-based, volunteer-run, non-profit that is a leader in finding homes for Arkansas children and supporting the families who care for them. Volunteers train an average of 50-60 families per year to serve as foster homes and facilitate an average of more than 20 adoptions annually. The CALL is responsible for almost 100 percent of available foster homes in Conway County and more than 90 percent in Faulkner County.

“Every child deserves the love and support of a family. The CALL works to make that a reality. Its volunteers make a life-changing difference for young Arkansans. I’m proud to recognize the CALL for its inspiring work on behalf of children and families in Arkansas,” Boozman said.

"My advisory board, the Divison of Children and Family Services, churches, community, foster and adoptive homes are such a wonderful support. We could not do this work without everyone's help. The Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute (CCAI) coordinates the Angels in Adoption program and raises awareness about the tens of thousands of orphans and foster children in the United States, and the millions of orphans around the world in need of permanent homes.  

“The Angels in Adoption program gives a platform to the families, advocates, and experts who so often serve quietly and faithfully behind the scenes yet make a huge impact on behalf of children in need of families. Together with the Adoption Caucus, we are thrilled to shine a light on the extraordinary work of our Angels and the power of adoption,” said CCAI’s Interim Executive Director, Bethany Haley. 

Boozman annually nominates an Arkansan or Arkansas organization that has made an extraordinary contribution on behalf of children in need of safe and loving homes as an Angel in Adoption.
