WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator John Boozman (R-AR) earned the 2015 ‘Friend of Farm Credit’ award for his commitment to rural communities and agriculture. The AgriBank District Farm Credit Council (ADFCC), the national trade association representing institutions of the Farm Credit System, presented Boozman with the award.

“Agriculture is a huge economic engine for Arkansas. Providing our state’s farmers and ranchers with the financial assistance they need is vital to business, jobs and the nation’s food supply. I am honored to receive the 2015 Friend of Farm Credit award and will continue to ensure these food producers have access to the credit they need.” Boozman said.

“Senator Boozman has been a strong advocate for rural communities and agriculture,” Tony Wilkie, a farmer from Forrest City, Arkansas, and a member of the AgriBank District Farm Credit Council said. “He has worked to champion federal policies that meet the needs of farmers, ranchers and rural communities across the United States. On behalf of Farm Credit members in my home state and across the nation, I want to express our appreciation for the work Senator Boozman does for us and our communities.”

The Farm Credit System is a nationwide network of borrower-owned lending institutions with the mission of providing a reliable source of credit for the nation's farmers and ranchers.  The AgriBank District Farm Credit Council represents Farm Credit farmers and ranchers in a 15-state area that covers half the nation's cropland.
