WASHINGTON –U.S. Senators John Boozman (R-AR) and Tom Cotton (R-AR) along with Congressman Rick Crawford (AR-01) today announced that Mountain Top Public Water Authority in Heber Springs is the recipient of a $114,000 grant and $243,000 loan to extend water service to new users. Campbell Station will receive a $5,000 grant to begin correcting problems with its wastewater lift station and pumps.

“Infrastructure is a critical component to providing citizens the services we rely and depend on to meet our needs. These funds are an important investment and will improve the quality of life for the people in these communities,” Boozman said.

"I applaud the USDA’s selection of these deserving communities for these grants. Investments in our infrastructure will continue to support growth across northern Arkansas in the coming years, and I look forward to partnering with USDA to identify the rural communities most in need," Cotton said.

“Reliable water infrastructure is such a basic requirement for a working community, and these grants will help keep that requirement met for the people of Jackson and Cleburne Counties," Crawford said.

The funding comes from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Rural Development.
