WASHINGTON––U.S. Senator John Boozman (R-AR) took part in a local effort to provide Natural State veterans in need with items to help round out their Thanksgiving meals on Saturday, November 20.

“I’m honored to have been able to help serve Arkansas veterans. It’s all about helping others this very special time of the year as we have so much to be thankful for. We’re very blessed to have communities and organizations that are willing to help meet the needs of their friends and neighbors, especially those who have worn our nation’s uniform,” Boozman said.

The distribution event, made possible through a grant from Feeding America, was held at the River Valley Regional Food Bank in Fort Smith. Boozman, along with members of Combat Veterans of Arkansas, Chapter 7-3, distributed supplies including half of a ham, a turkey and a box of pantry items including canned vegetables, apple pie filling, stuffing mix and more.
