Information on COVID-19

We have learned a great deal about COVID-19 over the past several months. We understand more about how the virus is transmitted, the effects it has on the human body and the ways in which therapeutic treatments can aid recovery. 

If we heed and act upon the advice of our medical experts, we can protect ourselves, and others, from contracting it. 

Following the “Three W’s” is the easiest, most commonsense way we can each do our part.

Follow these additional commonsense recommendations for everyday preventive actions to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19: 

  • Isolate if you are sick.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.

If you are at a higher risk for serious illness from COVID-19, it is extra important for you to take actions to reduce the risk of getting sick. However, everyone—no matter your age or health—should do their part to follow recommendations. While you may feel healthy and exhibit no symptoms, you still may be carrying the virus and inadvertently help spread it. 

By doing our part to reduce the spread, we are protecting ourselves, our community and the doctors, nurses and medical professionals on the front lines of the fight. These committed men and women are being stretched in an unprecedented way. We are indebted to them for their efforts. We must help them, help us.
