WASHINGTON D.C. - U.S. Senators Mark Pryor and John Boozman, along with Congressman Rick Crawford (AR-1) today announced that the City of West Memphis will receive a $1,136,400 grant from the Department of Transportation for West Memphis to rehabilitate a taxiway at West Memphis Municipal Airport. The rehabilitation of the taxiway will help maintain the structural integrity of the pavement, ensuring safe takeoff and landings.

“A safe, high-quality airport is critical to the economic development of a city,” Pryor said. “These federal funds will help the West Memphis Municipal Airport make important infrastructure upgrades to improve safety and better serve passengers.”

“This investment is important as community leaders work to accommodate future economic development in and around West Memphis,” Boozman said.

“It is vital Arkansas airports meet federal safety standards. This grant provides the necessary funding to ensure the West Memphis Airport can continue to safely serve its passengers,” said Crawford.
