WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Senators John Boozman and Mark Pryor along with U.S. Congressman Mike Ross (AR-04) today announced that Grant County will receive a $312,607 grant from the Department of Transportation for improvements to Sheridan Municipal Airport.  The grant will be used to deter unauthorized persons and vehicles from entering onto the airfield.

“We must continue to meet the demands placed on our infrastructure. Improvements to the airport are important to accommodate future economic development in and around Sheridan in addition to providing safety updates,” Boozman said.

“Local airports open opportunities for economic development, which is why we need to keep airports like Sheridan Municipal in top shape,” Pryor said.  “I’m pleased to see federal dollars reinvested in communities this way.”

“The safety of our local airports is and should always be a top priority,” said Ross.  “Our local airports connect communities all across Arkansas to the world and help sustain economic development throughout the region.  This investment in the Sheridan airport will help make the airport safer and stronger for its passengers and the surrounding communities.”
