LITTLE ROCK –U.S. Senators Mark Pryor and John Boozman today announced that the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) will receive a $169,066 grant to help Arkansas agricultural producers develop business opportunities.

The funding, awarded under USDA’s Small Socially Disadvantaged Producer Grant program, will support UAPB’s efforts to help producers and two vegetable cooperatives develop business plans, conservation plans and market research.

“This grant is welcome news. UAPB’s expertise and assistance can make a big difference for small producers trying to grow their operations. And that’s good for the industry and our economy,” Pryor said.

“Agriculture is Arkansas’s top industry so there is a lot of knowledge within the state that can help our producers. This grant will allow UAPB to share its skills with agriculture operators while paving the way for future economic growth and job opportunities in our agricultural industry,” Boozman said.
