WASHINGTON- As a guest on C-SPAN’s “Washington Journal,” on Tuesday morning, U.S. Senator John Boozman (R-AR) called for a return to regular order so all members of Congress have a voice in how hard-earned taxpayer dollars are spent.

“Let people participate. Let them amend the bills in a free and open way in the Senate and then you get a good product,” Boozman said. We’re well into Fiscal Year 2018 and “our agencies are having to spend the same amount of money that they did last year in the same way. That makes no sense at all.”

Boozman, a member of the Senate Committee on Appropriations, has been vocal about the need to return to regular order and the problems that agencies and the military face when continuing to support last year’s priorities with this year’s funding.

During the commissioning of the USS Little Rock last month, the senator highlighted how the use of continuing resolutions to fund the government is problematic to the U.S. Navy.
