WASHINGTON- U.S. Senators John Boozman (R-AR) and Tom Cotton (R-AR) today announced that Mike Hagar has been nominated by President Donald Trump to serve as U.S. Marshal for the Eastern District of Arkansas.

“Mike Hagar is a devoted public servant who has demonstrated his commitment to law enforcement in his well-established career with the Arkansas State Police. He has proven to be a valuable member of the ASP. I am confident he will continue to serve with the same honor and distinction as a U.S. Marshal. We can be proud of Mike for the opportunity he has to maintain the U.S. Marshals’ long and storied history in our state and continue to uphold the rule of law,” Boozman said.

“As a member of the Arkansas State Police, Mike Hagar has protected Arkansas’ governors and citizens for more than two decades. That experience will serve him well as a U.S. Marshal, where he will continue to build upon his strong legacy of service to our state. Captain Hagar’s record has earned the president’s nomination, and I look forward to his confirmation in the Senate,” Cotton said.

Hagar is a member of the Arkansas State Police (ASP) where he has served since 1996. He  currently serves as Commander of Troop A, Highway Patrol Division, the largest Field Command in the ASP. His previous assignments include commander of the ASP Executive Protection Section and the ASP training division. He started his law enforcement career with the Sherwood Police Department. Hagar is a graduate of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
