WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator John Boozman (R-AR) joined a bipartisan group of senators in introducing legislation to award U.S. Capitol Police Officer Eugene Goodman the Congressional Gold Medal to honor his heroic actions on January 6, 2021. Goodman confronted rioters in the Capitol, delaying their access to the Senate chamber and protecting the lives of those inside. 

“The courage and heroism demonstrated by Officer Goodman before a dangerous and violent mob is well-deserving of this honor. I’m proud to support this legislation to thank Officer Goodman for his selfless actions in defending the U.S. Capitol,” Boozman said.
