VHP Interview Day in Fort Smith Part of Boozman's Celebration of Collection's 25th Anniversary
May 01 2025
My office was pleased to host a Veterans History Project (VHP) Interview Day on April 30 in partnership with the Chaffee Barbershop Museum in Fort Smith where former servicemembers shared memories of their experiences in uniform for preservation as part of the ongoing Library of Congress initiative celebrating its 25th anniversary.
Members of my staff conducted interviews with six local veterans, including WWII veteran Jock Davis, as they recalled details about their military service and explained its impact on their lives.
I am proud that my team and I have actively promoted and participated in this program over many years, including training more than 1,200 Arkansans to engage with it and conducting over 100 veteran interviews that have been submitted to the collection.
