WASHINGTON D.C. – U.S. Senator John Boozman, a member of the Senate Agriculture Committee supports bipartisan efforts to provide Arkansas and America’s agriculture producers the certainty they need with a five year farm bill and approved the committee-passed bill.

“This framework is a fair approach to providing a safety net for all crops and regions of the country. It’s a step in the right direction as we work to protect vulnerable agriculture producers throughout the nation. We will continue to seek improvements and enhance efficiency in the final product, but I’m optimistic that we can find a solution that both chambers of congress can support,” Boozman said.

Boozman’s amendment to allow water and wastewater treatments plants to be eligible to participate in the regional conservational partnership program was included in a broad group of improvements to the legislation that were submitted by Chairwoman Stabenow.

“This bill is the result of the leadership of Chairwoman Stabenow and Ranking Member Cochran. I appreciate their guidance and willingness to find common ground and fulfill our responsibility of providing a five year farm bill to our nation’s agriculture producers,” Boozman said.
