WASHINGTON––Facing challenges including skyrocketing inflation, supply chain disruptions and labor shortages, Arkansas businesses have demonstrated resilience. U.S. Senator John Boozman (R-AR) applauded industries and leaders in White County that have exemplified that quality at the 76th annual Searcy Regional Chamber of Commerce banquet on Tuesday.
“As a former small business owner I understand how this economic climate is creating more unnecessary challenges to planning for the future. That’s why I support policies that reward entrepreneurship and encourage growth. We can be proud of job creators in Searcy as well as the support of the community that has helped them succeed. I’m proud to celebrate the contributions of area businesses fueling development in the community and the region,” Boozman said.
“Senator Boozman is a long-time advocate for Arkansas businesses. In our community, like so many others, we have a labor shortage. We are working with the existing businesses, industries and local educational providers to encourage the next generation of employees to learn skills currently in demand and to prepare for those in the future. Senator Boozman is a champion of preparing Arkansas’s workforce to match the needs of employers in the region. We appreciate his support and joining us to recognize the accomplishments of businesses in our community,” said Buck Layne, President and CEO of the Searcy Regional Chamber of Commerce.
Local businesses were recognized for their support of economic development in the community including Bryce Corporation which recently broke ground on its new manufacturing facility and announced an $80 million investment in its operations that will result in 142 new jobs.
Bryant Law Firm and Charlie’s Auto Paint and Body were honored as small businesses of the year.
Boozman has been a steadfast champion of policies that support small businesses. He has repeatedly earned the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s ‘Spirit of Enterprise’ award and the National Federation of Independent Business’s ‘Guardian of Small Business’ award.
