WASHINGTON, D.C. –U.S Senator John Boozman applauded the efforts of the talented college students who wrapped up their internships in his Washington D.C. office this week.

“Our interns have been a great help to the people of Arkansas during their time in Washington. I appreciate their dedication and their commitment to working with the staff to address issues concerning Arkansans. They have taken advantage of the opportunities in Washington and learned about legislative process and how we serve the people of our state,” Boozman said.

Aly Humphrey, Amy West, Ashleigh Davenport, Austin McCollum, J. Ryan Johnson, Kelby Czerwonka, Kevin Kanavy, Sam Clark, Spencer Smith, Stephanie Channell, and Thanh Le have spent five weeks answering phones, researching legislative issues and giving Arkansans tours of the U.S. Capitol.

Aly Humphrey is a 2010 graduate of Russellville High School in Russellville. She is a junior at Arkansas Tech University where she is pursuing degrees in Political Science and International Political Affairs with a Pre-Law focus.

Amy West is a 2011 graduate of Custer County High School in Westcliffe, Colorado. She is a junior at University of Arkansas in Fayetteville where she is pursuing degrees in Agricultural Business and Economics.

Ashleigh Davenport is a 2009 graduate of Highlands Ranch High School in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. She graduated from Colorado State University in July 2012 with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and a minor in Spanish. She is currently attending Regent University School of Law in Virginia Beach, Virginia pursuing a Juris Doctorate degree with a focus in family law.

Austin McCollum is a 2010 graduate of Bentonville High School in Bentonville. He is a senior at University of Tulsa in Oklahoma, where he is pursuing degrees in Energy Management and Information Systems Management.

J. Ryan Johnson is a 2009 graduate of Ouachita Christian School in Monroe, Louisiana. He recently graduated from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville with degree in Agricultural Business and a minor in General Business. He will begin his graduate work at the University of Arkansas in the fall, pursuing a Masters in Agricultural Economics.

Kelby Czerwonka is a 2012 graduate of West Plains High School in West Plains, Missouri. She is a sophomore at Harding University in Searcy where she is pursuing degrees in Broadcast Journalism and Communications Studies with a minor in Leadership Studies.

Kevin Kanavy is a 2011 graduate of Junipero Sierra High School in Menlo Park, California. He is a junior at Pennsylvania State University, where he is pursuing a degree in Political Science.

Sam Clark is a 2010 graduate of Rogers Heritage High School in Rogers. He is a senior at University of Arkansas in Fayetteville where he is pursuing a degree in Communications with a minor in Political Science.

Spencer Smith is a 2010 graduate of Southside High School in Fort Smith. He is a senior at Metropolitan State University in Denver, Colorado, where he is pursuing a degree in Business Management.

Stephanie Channell is a 2010 graduate of Prosper High School in Prosper, Texas. She is a senior at Arkansas Tech University where she is pursuing a degree in Political Science with a minor in History.

Thanh Le is a 2011 graduate of Southside High School in Fort Smith. He is a junior at University of Arkansas in Fayetteville where he is pursuing degrees in Political Science and Marketing with a minor in Finance.
