WASHINGTON- U.S. Senator John Boozman’s (R-AR) service to Arkansans is getting national attention. Boozman’s office is a finalist in the Congressional Management Foundation’s (CMF) Democracy Awards for its practices that help Natural State residents cut through the red tape of the federal government.

“I’m proud of the work my staff and I do to help Arkansans. My commitment to Arkansans is to provide the best possible constituent service and be a place for them to turn for assistance. I’m grateful for this recongition and pledge to continue my efforts to provide unmatched assistance to those who reach out for help,” Boozman said. 

Boozman’s outreach to Arkansans is recognized in the Constituent Service division, one of four categories that includes Innovation; Transparency and Accountability; and "Life in Congress"-Workplace Environment. Boozman’s office is the only Senate office among the six finalists for the CMF Democracy Award for Constituent Service.

“As a finalist in Constituent Service for a Democracy Award, Sen. Boozman’s office is clearly one of the best in Congress,” Bradford Fitch, President and CEO of the CMF said. “This designation demonstrates that Sen. Boozman has made a significant commitment to being the best public servant for his constituents in Arkansas. Sen. Boozman and his staff are to be congratulated for not only being a model for colleagues in Congress, but for helping to restore trust and faith that our democratic institutions can work.”

CMF recognized Boozman’s office for the comprehensive manner it engages with constituents and lives up to its motto, “Use the power of the office for good.” The organization highlighted the involvement in the Veterans History Project and the workshops that train others in the state to capture the memories of our veterans. CMF also praised Boozman’s office for its Facebook video educating constituents on how they can seek the office’s assistance with problems they are experiencing with federal agencies. CMF also applauded the office system that promotes coordination of state and Washington responsiveness to the needs of constituents.

A committee of former Members of Congress and congressional staffers will select the two winners (one Democrat and one Republican) for each of the categories. Winners will be announced in mid-May.
