WASHINGTON – The U.S. Chamber of Commerce awarded its prestigious “Spirit of Enterprise” award to Senator John Boozman for his support of pro-jobs, pro-growth policies during the second session of the 112th Congress.

“American businesses play a crucial role in the development and growth of our economy and Congress needs to create policies that promote job creation,” Boozman said. “I appreciate the efforts of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce to encourage business friendly policies that will help American companies.”

Thomas J. Donohue, president and CEO of the U.S. Chamber, presented the award to Boozman today.

“In the face of high-stakes politics and difficult choices, Senator Boozman provided America’s job creators with a strong voice in Congress,” Donohue said. “This award recognizes Senator Boozman for consistently demonstrating his support for pro-growth policies.”

The award recognizes lawmakers who supported the Chamber’s position on at least 70 percent of the eight key votes in the Senate including supporting reauthorization of the Export-Import Bank of the United States, the establishment of Permanent Normal Trade Relations (PNTR) with Russia and the reauthorization of surface transportation legislation.

Boozman maintained a 100 percent rating with the Chamber on issues important to American businesses last year.
