WASHINGTON D.C.– U.S. Senators Mark Pryor and John Boozman, along with Congressman Rick Crawford (AR-1) today announced that Phillips Community College in Helena has received a $102,590 grant from the Economic Development Administration. The funding will be used by the University Center Economic Development Program to help promote entrepreneurship and the commercialization of farm products.

“Phillips Community College has been a great resource for students, families, and local communities in east Arkansas,” Pryor said. “This grant will allow them to build on their success, and pave the way for future economic growth and job opportunities in our agricultural industry.”

“Agriculture is our state’s top industry. Providing the ability to capitalize on this business and encourage entrepreneurship is important to expanding economic opportunity in and around Helena,” Boozman said.

“These funds will be a tremendous asset to East Arkansas as a resource in helping to promote entrepreneurship within the agricultural sector in our state. Phillips Community College in Helena continues to be a force for economic growth and job training in Arkansas’ First District, and this grant will further complement their success,” said Crawford.
