WASHINGTON – The U.S. Chamber of Commerce awarded its prestigious “Spirit of Enterprise” award to Senator John Boozman for his support of pro-jobs, pro-growth policies during the first session of the 112th Congress.

“Congress has the responsibility to help create a business friendly environment that promotes job growth. I appreciate the efforts of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce on this front and I am honored by this recognition. I will continue to advocate for measures that provide economic growth and employment opportunities,” Boozman said.

Thomas J. Donohue, president and CEO of the U.S. Chamber presented the award to Boozman yesterday.

“Over the past year, Senator Boozman has worked to protect and advance the interests of America’s job creators,” Donohue said. “By supporting pro-growth policies, Senator Boozman is helping unleash the power of free enterprise to put our economy back on track and put Americans back to work.”

The award recognizes lawmakers who supported the Chamber’s position on at least 70 percent of the 11 key votes in the Senate including supporting repeal of the President’s health care reform law and approving the Colombia and South Korea trade agreements.

Boozman maintained a 100 percent rating with the Chamber last year and has a 94 percent record of supporting its position as a Member of Congress.
