WASHINGTON D.C. - U.S. Senators John Boozman and Mark Pryor and U.S. Representative Rick Crawford (AR-1) today announced that the Delta Regional Airport Authority will receive a $2,150,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation. The funds will be used to continue construction on the Delta Regional Airport in Colt including paving the apron, installing lighting, and designing access and terminal facilities.
“Funding for the Delta Regional Airport is a vital component to accommodating the needs and demands of the area while supporting economic development,” Boozman said.
“The Delta Regional Airport is important for economic development in the region,” Pryor said. “Federal funding has been key to moving this local project forward.”
“The funds from this grant will help boost economic development in the Delta Region and improve transportation for Arkansans,” Crawford said.
The Forrest City Municipal Airport and Wynne Municipal Airport will close down once the Delta Regional Airport is in operation. The Delta Regional Airport will be able to serve more passengers and meet an increased demand for service in the area.
