WASHINGTON – Wynne fifth graders visited U.S. Senator John Boozman’s Washington office from their classroom with the click of a mouse on Thursday, February 9.

The students from Wynne Intermediate School of Innovation talked with Boozman in the nation’s capital via Skype, an online video chat service.

“I appreciated the great questions these students asked. It’s clear they have an interest in the state and federal government. Having this opportunity to teach these fifth graders about public service is a great honor. It’s never too early to inspire these future leaders to get involved in giving back to the community,” Boozman said.

“The Skype with Senator Boozman and the fifth grade students at Wynne Intermediate School of Innovation was informative and awe-inspiring. He definitely made a connection to our students and their concerns. We are so appreciative of the time he set aside for our students,” Principal Sandra Hollaway said.

Students asked a wide range of questions about Boozman’s work in the U.S. Senate and enjoyed the discussion.

“The best thing about the Skyping was that we got to hear about his ideas and answers that he has about the current events in America. Also, because we got to learn a little about him. It was an honor to hear about his feelings and thoughts,” said Maraiah D.

“The good thing about talking to Senator Boozman was that we could learn more about what is going on in Washington D.C. and what they were working on there for us,” Emily L. said.
