U.S. Senator John Boozman today congratulated Third District students who were recently appointed to the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado; the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland; the United States Military Academy in West Point, New York; the Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, NY; and to the Naval Academy Prep School.

There will be a send-off picnic in their honor on June 11th in Bentonville. 

“These young Arkansans are among the best and the brightest,” said Boozman.  “I am extremely proud of them and am confident that they will excel during the Academy experiences.”

The following students received academy appointments:

Air Force Academy 

• Calvin Gammon of Fort Smith, AR. Calvin attended Union Christian Academy and is the son of Wayne and Martha Gammon.
• Foster Pace of Russellville, AR.  Foster attended Russellville High School and is the son of Robert and Heidi Pace. 

Naval Academy 

• Pablo Arellano of Springdale, AR. Pablo attended Haas Hall Academy and the Naval Academy Prep School.  Pablo is the son of Sam and Teresa Arellano.
• Jimmy Britton of Rogers, AR. Jimmy attended Rogers Heritage High School and is the son of Jim and Rosie Britton.
• Jacob Compton of Fayetteville, AR. Jacob attended Fayetteville High School and is the son of Jim and Belinda Compton.
• Robert Henderson of Gentry, AR.  Robert attended Gentry High School and the Naval Academy Prep School.  Robert is the son of Tim Henderson and Julie Knight.
• Ashton McCombs of Fayetteville, AR. Ashton attended Fayetteville High School and is the son of Ashton McCombs III and Elizabeth McCombs. 

Military Academy 

• Leyla Baggson of Bentonville, AR. Leyla attended Rogers Heritage High School and is the daughter of Maurice and Guilzar Baggson.
•  James Parker of Rogers, AR. James attended Rogers Heritage High School and is the son of Rick and Marianne Parker.
• Evan Ray of Huntington, AR. Evan attended Hackett High School and is the son of Eddie and Sherri Ray. 

Merchant Marine Academy 

• Brannon Niblock of Fayetteville, AR. Brannon attended Quantico Middle/High School in Quantico, VA and is the daughter of Col. Walter Lester Niblock, USMC, and Debra Niblock. 

U.S. Military Academy Prep School 

• Nathan Weir of Hackett, AR. Nathan attended Union Christian Academy and is the son of James and Shannon Weir. 

The Naval Academy Prep School Scholarship 

• Ashley Eves of Bentonville, AR. Ashley attended Bentonville High School and is the daughter of John and Auristela Eves
