WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator John Boozman issued the following statement in response to the attack on Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords (D-AZ) and members of her staff today in Tucson, Arizona.

“Having served with Congresswoman Giffords on the House Foreign Affairs Committee I can say firsthand what a wonderful person she is. Gabby is a dedicated public servant and a true friend. She is the type of person who can disagree without being disagreeable. This senseless attack on her, her staff and other innocent Americans is horrific. My thoughts and prayers go out to all the victims of this tragedy as well as their families in hopes that those who survived will make a full recovery and that the perpetrator will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.”
