WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator John Boozman (R-AR) will honor the service and sacrifice of veterans and their families at events across Arkansas over the next several days.

“On Veterans Day we reflect on the sacrifices of the men and the women who put their lives on the line for liberty. These men and women and their families are selfless Americans who deserve our thanks and appreciation for their tireless efforts to protect our country,” Boozman said.

Friday, November 8

Ozark Heritage Bank Veterans' Celebration

Ozark Heritage Bank honors a local veteran one Thursday a month. They host a celebration with all their past honorees around Veteran’s Day each year. Boozman will be on hand to help honor the veterans during this ceremony.    

Saturday, November 9

Land Donation Ceremony to Fayetteville Veterans’ Cemetery

Boozman will attend the ceremony that will transfer 2.3 acres of land from the Regional National Cemetery Improvement Corporation (RNCIC) to the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) for expansion of the Fayetteville National Cemetery. The transfer ceremony (at approximately 8:30 AM) will immediately follow the completion of the Fifth Annual Veterans Memorial 5K race, which will begin at 8:00 AM at the entrance to the Fayetteville National Cemetery.

Paris Middle School's Veterans' Day Celebration

Boozman will speak at the Paris Middle School's third annual Veterans Day Celebration. The theme for this year’s ceremony is "Your Story, Our Freedom." Paris Middle School students are participating in a writing contest focused on this theme and the winning entries will be presented during the Veterans Day Ceremony.
