“A significant commitment to being the best public servant for his constituents in Arkansas”

WASHINGTON- U.S. Senator John Boozman’s (R-AR) office has been cited as providing the best constituent service in Congress.
The Congressional Management Foundation (CMF) bestowed its Democracy Award in the Constituent Service category on Boozman’s office based on the senator’s consistent efforts to help Natural State residents cut through red tape involving the federal government. Boozman’s office was the only Senate office among the six finalists in this category.
“This is a tremendous honor that my staff and I are humbled to have earned. Since I came to Congress, my goal has always been to use the power of this office for good. One way we do that is by providing unmatched assistance to those who reach out for help and I am proud of my staff’s efforts to that end,” Boozman said. “When Arkansans face an issue dealing with a federal department or agency, it doesn’t matter where they’re from or what candidate or party they vote for – we’re going to be there to help them however we can.”
“As a Democracy Award winner, Sen. Boozman’s office is clearly one of the best in Congress,” said Bradford Fitch, CMF President and CEO. “This designation demonstrates that Sen. Boozman has made a significant commitment to being the best public servant for his constituents in Arkansas. Sen. Boozman and his staff are to be congratulated for not only being a model for his colleagues in Congress, but for helping to restore trust and faith that our democratic institutions can work.”
CMF recognized Boozman’s office for the comprehensive manner with which it engages constituents, helping to live up to its motto, “using the power of the office for good.” The organization highlighted the senator and his staff’s involvement in the Veterans History Project, including hosting numerous workshops to train Arkansans to capture the memories of veterans for submission to the Library of Congress. CMF praised Boozman’s office for its Facebook video educating constituents on how they can seek the office’s assistance with problems they are experiencing. It also recognized Boozman’s efforts to increase efficiency and responsiveness by promoting coordination between staff members across the senator’s state and Washington, D.C. offices.
A committee comprised primarily of former Members of Congress and staff selected the winners in a blind review process where the name of the Member was redacted from the review material. All of the winners and finalists will be honored at an awards ceremony in Washington, D.C. on July 13.
