WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator John Boozman (R-AR) praised Arkansas’ recipients of the All- American Teacher of the Year Award for their commitment and dedication to their students and the teaching profession. 

Shiloh Harder, a Calculus teacher at Conway High School; David Wentz, a Chemistry teacher at Pea Ridge High School; and John Havel, a Language teacher at Wilbur Mills High School in Little Rock received the award during ceremonies in Washington today. 

“Shiloh, David and John have proven themselves as remarkable leaders in the classroom for their students and the teaching profession. We should be encouraged by their efforts as they prepare our children for the challenges of the future and work to inspire our next generation of leaders,” Boozman said. 

The All-American Teacher of the Year recognizes outstanding math, science and English teachers in the National Math and Science Initiative (NMSI) Advanced Placement Training and Incentive Program. 

“These teachers have demonstrated a total commitment to their students' academic growth and are truly role models for the other teachers participating in NMSI’s programs,” Mary Ann Rankin, President and CEO of NMSI said. “Their efforts continue to drive impressive results by their students and inspire other teachers.” 

The awards were given to one teacher each in AP math, science and English from seven states that participate in AP training and incentive programs.
