WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator John Boozman will vote today in support of the House-passed Continuing Resolution (CR) that strips funding for Obamacare while maintaining government services and paychecks to our troops.
“I’ve warned about the dangers of this overreaching law since 2009 and consistently voted to defund and repeal the law. Even without full implementation, we can see the disastrous impact it is beginning to have on our economy, businesses and families.
The best way to eliminate these complications is to repeal the problematic law. That’s why I support the House-passed legislation that defunds Obamacare and keeps the government operating. The people of Arkansas overwhelmingly support a repeal of the law and I will fight to preserve this bill and vote against efforts by Majority Leader Reid to amend the bill and restore funding to Obamacare. I encourage my colleagues on the other side of the aisle to support the will of the American people and to repeal Obamacare.”
Boozman has helped lead the fight against the overreach of Obamacare since it was proposed in 2009 and against passage as a member of the House of Representatives. As a member of the GOP Doctor’s Caucus Boozman offered solutions to contain health care costs.
As a member of the Senate, Boozman has voted to repeal and defund Obamcare, sponsored legislation to defund, repeal or delay the law, and signed letters to take action against this overreach. He has also been a vocal supporter on the Senator floor for repealing and defunding Obamacare.
