WASHINGTON –The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), the nation’s leading small business association, awarded U.S. Senator John Boozman (R-AR) its ‘Guardian of Small Business’ award for his outstanding voting record on behalf of America’s small business owners in the 113th Congress.  

NFIB President and CEO Dan Danner praised Boozman for “standing up for small business.” 

“The record shows that Sen. Boozman is a true champion of small business, supporting key small business votes in the 113^th Congress,” said Danner. “This award reflects our members’ appreciation for supporting the NFIB pro-growth agenda for small business.” 

“Small businesses are the backbone of our economy. As a former small business owner, I understand the importance of creating an economic environment that allows innovation, expansion and predictability. The crushing regulations and the tax burdens imposed on these job creators hurts our economy. I am committed to promoting policies that support small business and help these engines of our economy grow. I am honored to receive this award,” Boozman said. 

NFIB’s “How Congress Voted,” which serves as a report card for members of Congress, was also unveiled this week. The report presents key small business votes and voting percentages for each lawmaker. Those voting favorably on key small business issues at least 70 percent of the time during the 113^th Congress are eligible for the Guardian award. 45 Senators earned the Guardian award.
