WASHINGTON, DC—U.S. Senators Mark Pryor and John Boozman today joined Congressman Steve Womack (AR-3) to announce $75,000 in Department of Transportation funding for Rogers Municipal-Carter Field Airport. The funding will be used to conduct a Wildlife Hazard Assessment, which will allow the airport to improve safety and operations.

“Safe and efficient transportation is essential to the economic growth of communities in our state,” Pryor said. “These funds will allow the Rogers Municipal-Carter Field Airport to mitigate wildlife hazards so we can ensure the safe and timely arrival of passengers and cargo.”

“These funds will go a long way toward supporting the growth and development of Northwest Arkansas,” Boozman said. “This airport is a vital component to accommodating the needs and demands of the region and providing the services that people and businesses rely on for continued economic progress.”

“Arkansas is fortunate and grateful to receive this grant for the Rogers Municipal-Carter Field Airport – along with many other grants – which invest in our transportation infrastructure and bolster our state and local economies,” said Womack.
