WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator John Boozman (R-AR) today joined his Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committee colleagues to introduce bipartisan legislation to increase veterans’ disability benefits from the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

The Veterans’ Compensation Cost-of-Living Adjustment Act of 2015 (S.1493) would increase the rates of VA disability compensation, dependency compensation for surviving children and spouses, and the clothing allowance for veterans based on rising costs of living.

“As the cost of living continues to rise, our disabled heroes and their families must not be left behind. These men and women have made enormous sacrifices for our nation and should be adequately compensated,” Boozman said. “This bill will help us keep our promises by raising the cost of living compensation for our veterans with service-related injuries and their families to an acceptable level.

The Veterans’ Compensation Cost-of-Living Adjustment Act of 2015 was introduced by Senators Johnny Isakson (R-GA) and Richard Blumenthal (D-CN) chairman and ranking member of the Senate Committee on Veterans’ Affairs. Boozman, and the remaining members of the committee, are original cosponsors of the bill.
