WASHINGTON - U.S. Senator John Boozman applauded the efforts of talented college students interning in his Washington D.C. and states office for their service to the people of Arkansas.

“The commitment, enthusiasm and excitement of these interns has shown in the hard work they’ve done this summer alongside my staff and myself to address issues that affect Arkansas. I appreciate their willingness to serve Arkansans and be an ambassador for our state. This internship has presented them with excellent opportunities to gain insight into the legislative process, constituent service and other work being done in the nation’s capital and in the state on behalf of Arkansans,” Boozman said.

Tim Blickle, Courtney Brooks, Abby Deatherage, Steve Edwards, Kelsey Jensen, Cathleen Lowe, Reece Phillips, Seth Richards, Hunter Sadler, Kinley Shotts and Hadassah Solomson are completing a five-week internship in Boozman’s Washington office. These interns have dedicated themselves to serving Arkansans by researching legislative issues, writing letters, giving Capitol tours to Arkansans and answering incoming phone calls.

Johanna Baker, Madeline Bryant, Madeleine Carpenter, Golly Easterly and Sammie Tafoya interned in Boozman’s state offices. As interns their responsibilities handling local constituent correspondence, researching casework issues and representing the senator at community meetings and events alongside Boozman’s staff.

Johanna Baker is a 2014 graduate of Arkadelphia High School in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. She is a junior at Henderson State University majoring in mathematics with a minor in political science.

Tim Blickle is a 2014 graduate of Rogers High School in Rogers, Arkansas. He is a junior at Wheaton College majoring in political science with certificates in pre-law and military science.

Courtney Brooks is a 2013 graduate of Bentonville High School in Bentonville, Arkansas. She is a senior at the University of Arkansas majoring in international relations, political science, and Middle Eastern studies, specializing in terrorism and international security.

Madeline Bryant is a 2014 graduate of Southside High School in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She is a junior at the University of Arkansas majoring in political science with a minor in journalism.

Madeleine Carpenter is a 2014 graduate of Valley View High School in Jonesboro, Arkansas. She is a junior at Ole Miss where she is majoring in international studies and Spanish with a minor in economics.

Abby Deatherage is a 2012 graduate of Woodson High School in Fairfax, Virginia. She graduated in 2016 from the University of Virginia with a degree in English and American studies.

Golly Easterly is a 2014 graduate of Mount St. Mary Academy in Little Rock, Arkansas. She is a junior at Westminster College majoring in political science.

Steve Edwards is a 2013 graduate of Lee Academy in Marianna, Arkansas. He is a senior at the University of Arkansas majoring in marketing with a minor in communications.

Brianna Forth is a 2013 graduate of Flower Mound High School in Flower Mound, Texas. She is a senior at the University of Arkansas majoring in international relations and Spanish.

Kelsey Jensen is a 2011 graduate of Flippin High School in Flippin, Arkansas. She graduated in 2016 from the University of Arkansas with a degree in political science.

Cathleen Lowe is a 2013 graduate of Fayetteville High School in Fayetteville, Arkansas. She is a senior at the University of Arkansas majoring in accounting with a minor in history.

Reece Phillips is a 2013 graduate of Jonesboro High School in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He is a senior at the University of Arkansas majoring in finance with a minor in behavioral economics.

Seth Richards is a 2014 graduate of Rogers Heritage High School in Rogers, Arkansas. He is a junior at the University of Arkansas majoring in political science with a minor in legal studies and a certificate in military science.

Hunter Sadler is a 2014 graduate of Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, Arkansas with a degree in Psychology. He is a first year graduate student pursuing a master’s degree in public administration.

Kinley Shotts is a 2013 graduate of Mount Saint Mary Academy in Little Rock, Arkansas. She is a senior at the University of Arkansas majoring in journalism concentrating in advertising and public relations, with a minor in communication.

Hadassah Solomson is a 2015 graduate of the Yeshiva of Greater Washington. She is a freshman Barnard College where she plans to major in economics and computer science, with a minor in political science.

Sammie Tafoya is a 2010 graduate of Siloam Springs High School in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. She is a sophomore at the University of Arkansas majoring in journalism, political science and African and African American studies.
